A range of pinions is available for the "3000" gearbox To clearly identify, we need to know the number of teeth, overall length and diameter over teeth Part 107016 pinion "A" 11 teeth Part 107043 pinion "B" 14 teeth Part 107044 pinion "D" 14 teeth Click here to contact us for spare parts |

A customised motor (12v or 24v) can be fitted to all V3000 and most H3000 (provided the H3000 being converted is fitted with an independant gearbox). The new motors are fitted with an automatic brake and are all reversible. Because early winches varied in fixing detail, it is neccessary to use the services of a competant engineer to fit the new motor (or send the winch to us if convenient). These gearboxes were built in 3 stage and 4 stage versions and LH or RH models but, this is not a problem as the motors are reversible. If the old installation is to be upgraded from single direction to dual direction, you need to obtain a reversing solenoid and additional switch gear. Which we can supply if requested. We can supply 12v and 24v modern motors to replace the original long shaft Lucas and Prestolite motors. Remove the top cover from the gearbox and clean out surplus grease. Hold gearbox firmly in a bench vice with soft face jaws. Use an oil filter clamp or a large plumbers pipe wrench and carefully unscrew the old motor assembly (normal LH or anticlockwise to unscrew) from the gearbox. Take care to remove the locking pin if your winch is a reversing (power up/power down) model. There is a spacer at the outer end of the motor shaft, do not loose this item. After fitting the new motor and adaptor assembly, re drill the locking pin hole (if used) and fit pin. Three quarters fill the gearbox with Castrol TC 00 grease available from James Nilsson Ltd in 1 litre bottles. Part 436113: Adaptor Kit Part 336035: Motor 12v Part 336034: Motor 24v Click here to contact us for spare parts | |

Worms and wheels are available for all of the VEC worm boxes. These had various ratios according to winch model and voltage. Worm and worm wheel set is only available as a matched pair. Worm wheel is not supplied with pin hole pre drilled It is necessary to use a drill press and vice to align the shaft and drill the new wheel. Pin must be a tight drive fit in wheel and shaft. Half fill the gearbox with Castrol TC 00 grade flowing grease available from James Nilsson Ltd in 1 litre packs. Worm must "float" 1 or 2 mm on shaft, adjust spacer if necessary Part 107025: Worm and 29tooth wheel set Part 107026: Worm and 50tooth wheel set Part 107027: Worm and 57tooth wheel set Part 107032: Worm and 62tooth wheel set Click here to contact us for spare parts |

These are typically used on slow speed shafts to protect against water ingress. Remove old ring, clean running face and smear grease onto face. Slide new seal down shaft and press firmly onto mating face Part 363024: For 7/8" or 22mm shaft. Used in small rope capstans model S400, S600, M800 and windlasses V700E and H700E Part 363025: For 1" or 25mm shaft. Used in early V1000 and L1000 winches Part 363028: For 1 1/2" or 38mm shaft. Used in V3000, H3000 and H700 manual windlasses Click here to contact us for spare parts |

Part 154460 - Long pawl (17mm) Part 154461 - Short pawl (12mm) Part 154201 - Spring (Cut to suit length) Some fitting work may be needed to suit individual winch sizes. Typically this involves adjusting the pawl length and dressing back (filing) end of pin to clear slot. Click here to contact us for spare parts |

Most early Nilsson winches used brass keys Part 107003: V3000 lower clutch key (old part 315). Also used as inner clutch key in H3000 and H700M Part 107004:V3000 upper clutch key (old part 314) Also used as outer clutch key in H3000 and H700M Sides of key may need adjustment for size. Rub down carefully on a fine flat file or abrasive paper/cloth on a flat surface. Click here to contact us for spare parts |

Part 107045 Before screwing into gearbox housing, apply a generous coat of grease or anti seize compound to the threads and bore. Do NOT use copper based compounds. Bore of this bearing was always a loose fit to make alignment easier when fitting winch to deck. Use a pipe wrench to tighten down firmly. Click here to contact us for spare parts |

Part 107037 lifts upper clutch clear of series 2 gypsy when in free fall mode. Series 2 gypsy had a 57.5mm diameter bore. Series 1 gypsy was approximately 46mm bore and this spring will not fit without modification. Springs for series 1 winches are not available but it is possible to modify a series 1 gypsy by boring to 57.5 diameter and sleeving upper/outer clutch cone to 57mm Click here to contact us for spare parts |

Machined from solid high grade marine alloy and hard anodised. When fitting, fill new gear box three quarters full with Castrol TC 00 grade grease available from James Nilsson Ltd Part 107029 In later models, a dowel pin is fitted at the bottom of the cover screw hole nearest the viewer in the picture. After the motor is fitted and tested, the gearbox is drilled to provide a tangential lock when the pin is fitted. Click here to contact us for spare parts |
